Where did you hear that? Saputo's owns the Hostess brand in Canada and
is still making Twinkies (and Wonder Bread) there:

I suspect that Canadians like poutine better than Twinkies for a death-food.
I keep a few bottles of Mexican Coca-cola in the fridge. Much better
than the domestic crap.
