As far as I understand, you need to have a special HIL transceiver chip to
implement a HIL device and these chips are no longer in production. I'm
currently looking for a HIL interface for a PC in order to be able to use
HIL dials and buttons within a modern environment. The hardware issue seems
to be almost solved, but does anyone here have any experience with the ISA
HIL
interface card and how it is programmed?
I've never heard of or seen anything like that and I've worked with a
LOT of HPs. If want to use HIL devices on a PC I suggest that you buy an
old HP Vectra PC. They use AT-style DIN connector and HP-HIL.

I have some hope to be able to port
NetBSD's hp300 HIL driver to the ISA interface, but
as of yet I have no idea
how realistic this would be.
Any pointers or experience reports would be greatly appreciated.
