I find top-posted threads unreadable. It means that there are a
shrinking number of small corners of the Internet where I can actually
read and participate in conversations.
If someone appears in one of those corners and top-posts everywhere,
they badge themselves as a clueless newbie who couldn't be bothered to
go to the minimal effort of learning how things work and how to
participate. This person is therefore very unlikely to be a useful
member of that community; in fact, they're more likely to worsen the
signal:noise ratio and thus contribute to its decline.
Yeah, I'm a grumpy old git, at 46. I don't feel old inside, but my
body does. I don't like getting, but it's better than the alternative.
But one can't not get old, except by dying, so one might as well
embrace it. So, yeah, grumpy old curmudgeon. Yay. Perhaps I'll get to
take over Grumpy Ol' Fred's crown or something.
