IBM once manufactured time clocks. Here's an example of a particularly
nice one:

These were used to keep accurate time for a variety of systems ("systems"
not necessarily meaning computers). I can't imagine IBM did not have a
clock product that could integrate with a computer, or even an accounting
machine (going back to pre-computer days).
