TBH, I've had a few I've acquired just for parts, and there's not a lot of
useful stuff in them - I keep the geartrains, but not much else. Too much
plastic, and too few components (lots of custom silicon) for me to bother
trying to salvage things from the PCBs.
A dot matrix printer would yield far more useful bits and pieces (to me),
but of course I wouldn't dream of tearing one apart! (I've been trying to
find one locally, actually, and they've all vanished)
