I can fully understand when somebody doesn't want to learn a particular
thing. Heck, there are plenty of things I have no interest in learning
about. What I can't understand is somebody who has no interest in
learning anything.
And like you, I dislike it when people don't respect somebody else's
interests (even though they may not share them themselves).
Another issue is that if you take up a hobby like classic computing, you
are likely to run into problems from time to time. And IMHO, you should
then _want_ to learn whatever is needed to sort those problems. Perhaps I
am going a little too far, then...
