on an electric
oven is more exact. I couldn't tell you why. Cheap models of all
kinds are atrocious in any case.
Tell me about it. I once ahd to recalibrate an oven thermostat after
repariign it (it was a few days before Newtonsday, we needed the oven to
cook the turkey, and the correct repalcement was totally unobtainable so
I had to repair the old thermostat). I found that the on/off points were
not even approximately repaatable.... I think I got it somehwat near and
said 'try that'. Well, the food was edible...
To make this margianlly on-topic, the thermometer I used was an HP3421
data acquistion unit, a type K thermocouple and an HP71B as the controller.
