So Sun Studio for Linux is just a crappy Java based IDE for GCC.

I think this thread has now really become off topic...
Did they
implement GNU compiler extensions like Intel have?
I doubt it, and I sure hope
not. Rampant, undisciplined use of the GCC
"extensions" cause great gnashing of teeth for everyone not running GCC under
Linux on a PC.
