Hello, all,
I've got a batch of 30 brand new 8" Floppies that I can't figure out.
They are hard-sectored disks.
The weird part is that the index hole placement is strange on these
disks.
They don't work on my Altair 8" drives since the index sensor doesn't
line up with the hole.
On all of the other hard-sectored 8" floppies that I have, the index
hole is punched such that it is nearly vertical with relationship to the
spindle hole, meaning that if you draw a centerline through the spindle
hole up toward the index hole, the center of the index hole will fall
close to this line. On these particular group of floppies, the index
hole is offset to the right of the centerline, perhaps four or five
degrees so.
Anyone know what these might be for?
