Controls? No. Influences? Definitely.
The Crusades were filled with people looking for self
gain. They may
have done what they did in the name of the Lord, but it was still for
self gain, from what I have read.
Hmm, kinda like the current push for war.
I do recall hearing that the first one was somewhat
legit, but it's been
a long time since I've studied that.
No part of The Crusades was ever "legit".
