"Midly risky" may be an understatement. In my own experience, these things
would go south for apparently no good reason at all. (e.g. simply stop
working in the middle of writing a disk). If I could get one with a 90 day
warrantee, I might be tempted.
I suspect that the Apex problem was a not insignificant factor contributing
to the bankruptcy of Pinnacle.
