I vote we dispense with both, set up an FTAM
responder, build an OSI
network, and bury this pesky Internet.
HEPNET was an OSI network at one point wasn't it?
DEC missed the boat on burying this pesky Internet (or at least
the TCP/IP on which it rests) so you'll have to just put
up with it for the forseeable future!
Well it wouldn't be a replacement as such, but I was thinking of
setting up a L2 peer-to-peer network on top of said pesky network,
so we folks with VMS can run DECnet and the likes and use VMSmail
and 'set host' etc.
