I'm not fully acquainted with the Antikythera
device
I highly recommend a book called "Decoding the Heavens". It came out a
year or two ago. It covers the latest research on this device. The
famous (but old) article "Gears of the Greeks" has been proven wrong by
researchers using modern optic tools.
