I would be VERY surprised if there were free 42xx
emulators, since
they had pretty sophisticated instruction sets.
I thought perhaps I should take this as a challenge (I have my own
terminal emulator and wouldn't be averse to adding another emulation to
it). You also wrote

so I went looking for that. But
ftp.bitsavers.org seems to treat
"anonymous" like an ordinary username rather than doing anonymous FTP,
making it, ah, "difficult" to fetch anything.
Am I doing something wrong?
