Hi Bruce,
I went and looked through the rest of my trash folder and found a couple
of more messages from you. This is one.

converting it back to the standard connectors but
come to think of it the

Agreed. Very rugged as well. I plan to use nothing but in an upcoming
project that will see our next car (likely a Ford or similar van) equipped
with (among other things) an onboard computer for navigation and vehicle
systems monitoring.
Neat. What kind of computer are you planning on using? I've got a HP
9915 that I was thinking of doing something like that with but I have to
figure out a good display for automotive use and that will work with the
9915. The 9915 is a HP 85 but without a display or keybaord. It was made
for remote operatorless applications and it's about the size of a shoebox.
It uses all the regular HP 85 software, ROMs and interfaces.
BTW what is your side business? I was an
engineer for Martin Marietta
and used to work a lot with those connectors.
Have a look at
www.bluefeathertech.com. I offer services such as device
programming, media format conversion and data archiving, plotter output,
etc. As my interest in radio cotinues to flare again, I expect to (in the
future) provide such things as conversion of commercial units to ham
frequencies, test, alignment, etc.
THAT should keep you busy!
