Suppose we try to restore the 360/30, and one of the
hybrid SLT
modules is bad. Where do you suppose we'll find a replacement?
From another card. There were not that many types of
SLT (unlike the later
families).
I woudn't be suprised if you could still get them from IBM. SLT continued
to be used in new designs after the other families came into being.
Most
likely we would have to try to fabricate one, assuming that we could
find or reverse-engineer a schematic for the particular module.
Certainly one could fabricate SLT. SOTs and surface mount resistors on a
PC board. As you know, there isn't much to an SLT module.
If you had to fabricate one, you would be better off fabricating a bunch
at one time on one board, then chopping it into the individual circuits..
