I hate to tell you but the ethernet boards led's come on anytime a cable is plugged in
that is connected to other related equipment - a hub, switch, or another computer via a
"null-modem" cable. It does that even with the power cord unplugged.
Do you have any of the manuals for the 1000A? I have manuals for the Alphaserver 1000A if
they might help.
