i.e. it's not
designed to be a lubricant at all (and hardly surprising there's some
waxy junk in there)
I have a feeling the '40' bit is meaningless and was just chosen because
it rolled off the tongue nicely...
as a rule of thumb:
40 would mean that there have been 39 prior failures. They
number starting at 1, not at zero. (cardinal v ordinal?)
