Important thing to consider is easy access to the heads. Qume drives are difficult to get
to the heads. I've also
had better luck with a single sided drive as far as head damage to media if what you need
to read is only single-sided.
That's a good point regarding head access. On the TM-848E, I need to remove one of the
PCBs to get access to the heads.
