There's physical room for a SCSI, WD100x-05, and an 8-bit IDE on the 12 x 40
hole wirewrap layout on the card I'm using. IF I can find two or three
drives that work in 8-bit mode, that will be enough. They want to be thin
2-1/2" drives, though, else they'll stick too far out from the board.
Do you mean you checked the standard and
subsequently fiddled with the
software so it set the mode to 8-bit? That's part of what I wanted to
establish.
How would I know the 8-bit mode was there otherwise? the books
(standard) said it was there, didn't work as advertized. I suspected
it was optional.
