Some time ago, someone on this list posted a URL for a site where someone
had homebrewed something to that effect and were using a 'scope as the XY
display; it was all hooked up to a computer so that they could draw
images, write words etc. on the 'scope's display.

Dunno if this is what you were thinking; and it's kinda offtopic as it uses
a PC & Soundcard to draw the images; tho it would seem possible to do it
with ontopic hardware...
