So if halon is
really so benign, why did they ban it?
There's a big difference between "directly harmful to humans" and
"damages the ozone layer".
There is more than one "halon" with differing proportions of carbon
,chlorine , fluorine , bromine and iodine.
Perhaps they're not totally banned but being phased out. Certainly
considered to be harmful to the ozone layer.
