walk, ride a bike,
or take a bus?
I'm in London, and I find the public transport (particularly buses) to be
quite useable at off-peak times. OK, it's not too convenient if you want
to bring home a PDP11 (although I _have_ carried 19" rack units on buses
:-)), but it's possible...
