Those
mainframes weren't 32 bit though. They were *much more* than 32
bit. What was it, two 64 bit registers or something like that? I
don't remember, but I'm pretty sure it's not just a straight 32 bit
machine :D
360 and early 370 was 24-bit. They switched to 32-bit (or 31-bit) later.
