Yes. You can attach
an external QBus box to a VAX 4000-100.
IIRC there is a small expansion unit for the MV2000. It features a DD50
for the MFM signals. This allows you to connect an additional, extrnal
MFM disk to a MV2k. Some variants of MV3100 have the same DD50 MFM
connector.
