I kinda know that... Been at it since before the PC, before the Altair,
since the pdp-8 (straight 8).
Hence the comment about PCs, I know they work with PCs the drive I have
were tested in them.
While it was brought in around '94 its implementation was slow and not
all drives
below 500mb even had it though it was often claimed.
The spec also said IDE was capable of 8bit transfers... I have the only
drive that does that
a 20MB WD on a ISA card (has boot rom and driver in rom but no byte
swap) for the XT
class machines. Though CFs do.
I was asking for known drives that actually do LBA, not maybe or the
Large mode.

First off I know that most drives over 2gb supported LBA so this covers
drives smaller.
What I need to verify or know is what drives smaller than 2GB or
better yet
smaller than 1GB that support LBA. I don't want to use CHS and while

and CF it would be nice to stay in LBA all the way.
Its handy of the drive looks like n-many 512byte blocks starting from
zero.
So what smaller drives support LBA? The drive can be 3.5" or 2.5"
format.
I have a large (greater than 50kilos) collection of IDE/ATA interface
drives
from 20mb all the way to 4.3GB (larger is not being considered) to pick
from.
I think but can't verify that Seagate ST3660A, 545MB (the fixed one)
does LBA.
the question is what others?
Obviously I'd like to use up a smaller drive, just because, no good
reason.
I want to do a bit of playing with OS creation or heavy modification.
