That may be the case in the US. However in the UK and having run my own
business for the last twenty five years, it?s a case of income minus
expenses. Not only that, a loss can be carried forward to the next year.
You can't live off of a hobby business but you might make it cost you less.

"re-investment of profits" (which ARE likely to be taxable)
