It is really sad how little software from other

On that note, I've largely come to the conclusion that it's impossible to
actively seek out - but that it does exist out there and will sometimes turn
up completely at random. I'm amazed at what gems I'm unearthed when I
*haven't* been trying, and via some really strange connections.
The depressing ones are when you run into someone who says: "yes, I had every
single bit of software for system xyz, but I tossed it out a couple of years
ago". That one's happened *again* in the last couple of weeks, for a line of
machines where surviving software is (currently) very thin on the ground :(
I'm not quite sure how to get the message out there that this stuff's of
potential interest - particularly without being drowned in copies of mundane
PC software. Often the people who actually have a stash of disks / tapes /
whatever aren't the ones who recall what they actually are!
