Hi,
Does anyone have any details on how write precompensation is implemented
on MFM-formatted floppy disks?
Have you looked at the National Floppy app notes and the DP8470 data sheet?
I've seen the DP8470 data sheet (or at least a version of it) - it
contains the same explanation as every other FDC datasheet I've seen (a
quick overview of the external circuitry required and not much else). It
doesn't explain which bit patterns it's looking for, only that
I haven't seen any NSC floppy appnotes - I'm aware of a Winchester disk
application note (which I might have somewhere) but not a floppy disk one.
Thanks,
