Openwindows is about all you can run on the older sparc1's and IPC IPX
machines because of memory requirements.
Not even close. (sorry) X11 was very widely used on those machines,
and even their predecessors. Many pre-SPARC Sun machines with only 4MB
of RAM ran X11. Heck, I ran it, along with several others at work, on
68010-based Sun2 machines with (I think) 2MB or 3MB of RAM.
