"Let" is a very strong word.
I work for a UK water company which is currently promoting a anti-fog (fats, oil &
grease) campaign, trying to get businesses and home-owners to use fog-traps (basically a
container to dump fat & grease into). The main reasons sewers block up (apart other
junk being thrown in) is from fog.
Also, you seem to forget how much sewage flows through that main sewer... probably a few
hundred litres (maybe more) of sewage each hour.
Atleast only a small portion of your stuff was ruined and sorry for going OT, but thought
you should know about FOG.
