The straight through cable will work. Apple usually used
straight through ribbon cables.
If the drive doesn't work, describe the symptoms.

Its got a DB-25 female connector on the back to hook up to the Lisa's
"parallel" DB-25 on the back. I don't have the original cable and I'm
thinking of trying an old 6 foot PC cable (all 25 signals in it)
Male-to-Male DB-25 to hook it up. Any reasons why this won't work?
