I have been playing with the new list setup on a test
list. I must admit, so
far I am extremely impressed. Mailman has a pretty fair number of anti-spam
features, moderation features, automatic bounce handling (end users will
probably never appreciate THAT part as much as I will). I'm giddy with the
new functionality :)
MM2.1 (coming soon) is even better. built-in de-MIMEing, as well as a
"plugin" functionality that lets you hand off mail to your own archiver
instead of the (admittedly) sucky pipermail.
I'm not particularly thrilled with the archiving
program (pipermail)
included in mailman, although, I believe it does support munging email
addresses in the archives.
It does; if you look at archives of the Rescue list
(
http://www.sunhelp.org/pipermail/rescue) all the listmembers'
addresses are shown as the list address itself.
Feel free to holler if you need any MailMan help; I've been using it for a
few large lists (total of about 7500 members) for four years now.
