Subject: Re: HP-150 Touchscreen
One thing that I did not get with the machine was
the HPIB cable to
connect it to the 9121 disk drive unit (which may need a bit of
attention). [...] Are these cables hard to find?
If they're the same as the HP-IB cables I have to go with my HP
9000/300 machines (and peripherals, such as 7958 disks), I have more than
I'm likely to need and wouldn't mind popping one in the post to you; I
can't
imagine it would cost all that much, even crossing the
pond. (I don't
know to
what extent HP-IB is HP-IB is HP-IB. I know SCSI, for
example, uses at
least
half a dozen mechanically incompatible external
connectors; I'd hate to
get
your hopes up only to find the cable I'd sent
doesn't work for you.)

That is very kind. I contacted the person who gave me the machine, he is
going to see if he can find the cable. If not then I will get back to you.
Unfortunately I don't know enough about HPIB cables to know if there are
different types, but I suspect there will be plenty here who do. For the
record it seems to be exactly like on the Wikipedia page
(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HPIB). I would need a cable with male
connectors on both ends.
