I'm not a linux bigot. I only use it if it suits my needs. That said, I
already had a (small) investment in linux.
The "usability" thing doesn't have anything to do with linux, and has
everything to do with appliance-izing MP3s next to my TV (and,
consequently, my stereo).

Actually one
of my projects recently has been working on a semi-embedded
linux for Dreamcast for just this purpose. I have this whole "usability"
hangup though so I still have a lot of work left.
Why not just use NetBSD/dreamcast?
