Just out of curiosity, was your first one an IBM model or some other
model? I ask because the IBM ones have always had consistent
performance from model to model, whereas the ones I saw on Toshiba
machines 7+ years ago were TERRIBLE to use (very mushy, non-linear
response, etc.).
My guess is that, if you truly hate it, you might not have started on a
true IBM one.
