Then again, it could be a problem of having the wrong
keyboard. I bought
this terminal and keyboard as a set, but the keyboard PN is 1389260. A
quick search says that one belongs with a 3180 terminal, which are for
System/36 or AS/400's.
I forget which model the AS/400 terminals we have at work are. They look a
lot like the 3472 InfoWindow terminal I have, but they're 5250 twinax type
terminals. They're also monochrome instead of color, one amber, one green.
The SetUp key on their keyboards is in the same position as the one on your
keyboard. You may well have the wrong keyboard for your terminal.
It looks like I was mistaken. I thought I saved two 3472 terminals, but can
only find one. The part number on its keyboard is 1394100. The SetUp key,
as I described earlier, is the middle key in the far left hand column of
keys. The keycap has ExSel on top and SetUp on the front. I just pulled
out the terminal and fired it up. I'm a bit surprised. It does work. I
figured being buried in the CE room it might have been a dud that was tossed
in there and forgotten about. Pressing Alt SetUp does bring up the setup
menu on it.
If you have the wrong keyboard maybe it's just the key caps that are
different. Since they have the same type of plugs maybe they're the same
basic keyboard under the hood. It might be worth a try pressing Alt plus
the middle key in the left hand column of keys even if that key doesn't say
SetUp on your keyboard.
