For the projects mentioned TTL will work. It interfaces to other TTL chips
and darlinton switches. The timing is extremely liberal so switching
performance is not an issue. It uses a +5v power supply.

The only thing it has in common with a TTL inverter is the function it
performs.
RTL logic, power supply, and switching performance are NOT the same as
TTL.
