Almost every reference claims that it only used the three
input RTL NOR
gate, but they're actually incorrect. It contained two kinds of chips,
the other of which was a core memory sense amplifier.
Like the well-known myth that the HP9100 calculator contaisn no ICs.
Assuming you don't count the hybrid circuits that contain the R's and C's
for the flip-flops, or that wonderful inductively-coupled PCB that forms
the main ROM, there are still 8 conventional IC op-amps in the card
reader of the 9100
