There are possibilities even on systems without what appears to be
any means of data linking. I once transfered a bunch of files by
taping a phototransistor over a controllable LED on the keyboard of
what appeared to be an otherwise impenetrable system. Bit-bang by
blinking.
It's mostly software, anyway.
