All true, but in terms of the price, when I was at school in the UK
for a Summer, a pint of lager was 95p, a pint of bitters was a more
affordable 87p. A mate of mine (who is slightly younger than I) was
shocked that I'd ever been able to buy beer for under "a pound a
pint", 'cause he never had. I in turn was shocked on my last visit to
London (2005) to see prices approaching *three* pounds for a pint.
I'm just back from Tokyo, the only place I've been where beer costs the
same as in Oslo.
That is, around 6 pounds/pint.
