And pretty much all it gets you is a Vendor ID. It'd be a different
matter if the PCISIG charged a one-time fee or kept a detailed database
of specifications for every PCI device, to insure against loss of
information when a vendor went belly-up. But just keeping your VID
around will run you $3K per year.
