I'm talking real actual bolts with hex heads, not
screws. I've yet to
see anyone use a hex head bolt, which is what comes to mind every time I
hear bolt mod. :P
OK, no. I used M2.5 pozidriv pan head machine screws. There is enough
room to fit them in post of the locations. You can't use them in the very
bottom row of posts, the nuts bang into the outer casing ( guess you
could mill part of that away to provide space). And I think there's on
location where the pan head won't fit because of the stabiliser wire on
the keycap. But apart from that it's fine.
I am not sure
quite ehat you do. You can't put sticky tape on the bottom
side, snicne you'd not get it out when you refit the membranes. And I
don't think sticking it to the top end of the springs will do much good.
Whoops - should have clarified a little bit. I have a custom work
fixture for the plastic barrel plate that lets teh springs rest in their
grooves without interference. That's still a clever little trick you
have though!
Right yes. I tried t ospport the key frame, but never made a custom
fixture to hold it. After I'd tried 3 or 4 times to get it togther and
always ahd at least one flap jump out, I decedied 'There must be a better
way' and figured out how to use the sprigns to hold the flaps in place.
