At least our military runs mostly solid-state now. In the mid-90s, one of the best audio
tube manufacturers (Ei in Yugoslavia) was nearly wiped out because it provided most of the
Serbian military's tubes for their communications equipment. The U.S. bombed the
factory. It was a sad time for the analog audio world; Ei makes tubes again, but nowhere
near at the capacity they used to.
