I got it figured out. For one thing, I transferred the latest ADT
disk image from my pc over to the apple. This may have helped, but
what really fixed it was going into the windows control panel and
changing the port settings.
Silly me, I thought that the s/w on the pc side could change those
settings without needing to change it at the system config level.
Anyway, I got good transfers of my apple disks...and I even went all
the way with 1 program...used ciderpress to extract the stuff from
the apple images, cleaned up the file and sent it to the hp2000...and
the program worked great!!!!
Thanks for the help!!

Bob, you've got a bad sector on the disk you're trying to transfer.
since the comm set up worked to get the ADT stuff
to apple, I thought it
would work ok the other way (thought
Do you mean to say that you thought you'd be able to transfer disk images
from the PC to the Apple?
though, if it helps, when I got the comms
working, I would trype on my pc
and it would show up great on my apple, but it would show up as garbage on
my pc.
Do you have matched baud rates, parity, stop bits, etc. on both sides?
