Why would an
ASR33 motor emit ozone?
I did have, years ago, a Model 14 and I seem to recall that the motor
may have been centrifugal-start, rather than capacitor start. So
there would have been a small arc when starting, but that's it.
At least one of the Model 33 motors had a current-operated starter relay
which disconnected the starting winding when the motot got going. I
suppose you'd get a small arc at its contacts when you turned the machine
on. But I doubt it would produce enough ozone to smell.
