are referred to as "Centronics" connectors. ?Before that, when the 50-
position unit saw most of its use in office key telephone systems, it
was often referred to as an "Amphenol" or "Blue Ribbon" connector.
Blue Ribbon was the name of the product line, and covered quite a few
styles of connectors.
