Probably a US-EU difference, but standard residential distribution in the US tends to be
200A 240V. Some of my neighbors have 400A service to their homes.
Yea, I use 220v & 240v interchangeably. When I did the upgrade, they actually
upgraded the service to my
property to 400A and split (at the meter) a 200A leg to the shop. The house was already
200A.
