There might have been some brand loyalty; I have great
memories of the
BBC Microcomputers we used in high school.
FWIW, not in my case. We had Beebs at achool, we also had a few RML 380Z
machines. I preferes the latter (if only because I knew the Z80
processor).
Much later on I got my own BBC micro and Advanced User Guide and relaisd
just what a well-designed machine it was (IMHO it is the best of all the
8-bitters, had they used a 6809 CPU it would have bene close to
perfect!).
I have not had the same feeling abotu any Mac (or IBM PC compatible)
machine, though.
