Still, as I said before, I recommend VMS.
I'd recommend VMS also. I just wanted people to know that VMS wasn't
the only choice. There's nothing about Ultrix that's noteworthy - it's
BSD with a bunch of customizations for DEC peripherals. It installs
easily because it has a pretty good idea of what you have under the
hood before it even begins. True BSD doesn't make as many assumptions,
so it's easier to install if you have 3rd-party disks, etc.
But... it's a VAX, it _should_ run VMS since nothing else will.
